May 27, 2008 · if you work over 16 hours and have children you should be able to claim Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit. And you can claim up to 70% of your childcare costs on Working Tax Credit! Dropping the hours you work would be useless anyway as they'd simply deduct what you earned from your Income Support (except for a measly £5).
