May 14, 2009 · Income support in the past was granted to people who didn't qualify for incapacity benefit because they hadn't paid enough national insurance. I don't know much about the new esa benefit, but as ESA states, it's the one you have to claim when unable to work through sickness.

May 20, 2008 · you can get both. my husband got incapacity benefit for years and got dla on top as it is not means tested. he has now managed to find a job he can manage, so incapacity has stopped. but he gets wages, working tax credit with disability premium , and he still gets to keep his dla.
