I used to work for the jobcentre (please dont hate me, lol). You will be able to make a claim for income support as a top up to incapacity benefit. Transfers from Incapacity Benefit. (Also see the note at the bottom). If you were transferred to ESA from Incapacity Benefit then your ESA started as Contribution Based.
