A still freeze frame appears, yet the movement bar is playing the video and the sound is still playing, but I only still see a frozen frame on the play screen..after a transition it sometimes will progress, but then freeze again.

    Jul 15, 2009 · I had footage shot with a consumer Canon 1920x1080, 24p camcorder. I first captured this with Final Cut Pro (because that's what I was using for that project) which turned it into 1920x1080 AIC 24p footage. I just put that into iMovie at that frame size, cut a piece out and exported it as an H.264 1920x1080 24p file which I've uploaded here.

    Apr 03, 2014 · The most recent version of iMovie’11 can import HD but for some reason it will not accept 1920X1080 at 60p. In other words, iMovie’11 doesn’t support 60p video well. In order to make iMovie recognize 60p video, you can convert the 1080/60p to Apple IntermediateCodec (AIC) yourself at 60p, and iMovie will let you edit a 24p or 30p project.

    Aug 31, 2011 · It handles most consumer formats very well but it will not handle 24p or newer 60p AVCHD footage. Being that FCP X imports iMovie '11 projects, my advice would be to start in iMovie. See when (and if) you hit a wall. See how far you can go before spending the $299 on FCP X.
