Jul 05, 2018 · The issues are related to ImageMagick-7. After the upgrade to the version 7.x, the build of Emacs stopped adding support for imagemagick. This occurs because ImageMagick people has changed the files naming so 'configure' fails in finding the needed headers. But the changes in version 7.x have broken also image.c file in Emacs source.

I compiled the latest ImageMagick with HEIC support and it is running from the command line in Terminal but not in PHP. Apparently, according to the Apache2 log, PHP cannot locate and load the extension. In these releases, reading MVG and MSL scripts are explicit. For example, if your script is named my_graph.mvg, to render it, use a filename of mvg:my_graph.mvg. Text is also explict, e.g. text:myText.txt. We also no longer support the EPHEMERAL coder, previously an internal coder that could remove a file as ImageMagick exits.
