I wanted to add yet another thing that could possibly go wrong in this scenario. IE9 has a rule that discards all @font-face declarations that can not be cached after the first load. IE9 will actually use the font correctly on the first display, but on subsequent refreshes, the @font-face will be disabled.

Although IE9 only supports .eot type fonts, while Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera support .ttf (TrueType Font) and .otf (OpenType Font) fonts. But, below versions of IE9, do not support the @font-face rule.
