CSS: Z-Index and Internet Explorer systemBash

    https://systembash.com/css-z-index-internet-explorer/
Jun 14, 2007 · If you try to use Z-index with Internet Explorer (I hear this is a problem on both 6 and 7), you may have problems getting it to “listen” when Firefox seems to handle z-index just fine.. The problem is a bug in IE which does not render z-index properly all of the time. If you just use z-index: XXX and do not have a position tag, then it does not work.

Feb 26, 2019 · I found that I had to place a special z-index designation on div in a ie7 specific styelsheet: div { z-index:10; } For the z-index of unrelated divs, such as a nav, to show above the slider. I could not simply add a z-index to the slider div itself.

IE not respecting z-index CSS-Tricks

    https://css-tricks.com/forums/topic/ie-not-respecting-z-index/
Feb 01, 2013 · Hi guys, I’m making a site with a drop down menu, using pretty much the same code I’ve used before with success. But this time I’m racking my brains trying to figure out why IE is not respecting the z-index and not showing my sub-menu correctly (weirdly only the borders).

Fixing IE z-index CSS-Tricks

    https://css-tricks.com/snippets/jquery/fixing-ie-z-index/
Oct 22, 2009 · What it does is loop through each of the elements that you declare and apply ever-declining z-index values on them. IE gets this backwards, and this sets it correctly. The reason it's not end-all-be-all is because sometimes it's not DOM-order that you need z-index to be in, and sometimes scoping comes into play as well.

IE 7 and z-index · Issue #270 · harvesthq/chosen · GitHub

    https://github.com/harvesthq/chosen/issues/270
Sep 23, 2011 · @ipenburg AFAIK, a big issue with IE7 is the z-index when using several instances of Chosen on the page as IE7 does not handle z-index in the appropriate order (and so the different instance will look really weird).

IE7 Z-Index bug [#454288] Drupal.org

    https://www.drupal.org/project/pixture_reloaded/issues/454288
May 05, 2009 · Great theme! Only problem is the dreaded IE7 Z-Index bug where the Superfish menus drop down behind the page content. This does not happen on any other browser (Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome, IE6 or IE8). I developed the site using the 6.x-3.0 version of the theme and all was well. When I upgraded to the 3.1 version, the problem returns.

Nov 14, 2011 · I created a coldfusion cfform that has a single cfinput datefield which is embedded in a CSS layout. The webform and datefield display properly in IE8, FF, Chrome but it will not display in IE7 (which our organization still uses). Any thoughts? Z-index bug - social.msdn.microsoft.com

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/06ba2375-4feb-468a-bec2-5798cdd57657/zindex-bug
Oct 19, 2006 · However, from what I've seen and read, the issue is hot enough that you can NOT find any information relating to how IE 7 now renders/uses the z-index. Even contacting Microsoft to find out "if" there is a solution in the works is impossible. This leads me to the fact that IE 7 does "NOT" currently recognize the z-index attribute.
