Jul 28, 2008 · Currently AOP support in IntelliJ IDEA is targeted for Spring framework, which has only a limited subset of pointcut expressions ('call', for example, isn't supported). And besides, IDEA provides editing, navigation and refactoring support for this @AspectJ subset, and no compiler integration (since Spring framework takes care of this itself).

Struts in my web applications and without any specific support for it within IDEA. AspectJ isn't an API, it's a language. You can certainly use AspectJ in IDEA now, but you don't get Java syntax highlighting in your AspectJ code, and refactorings don't work, and supposedly it's not very nice.-Keith
