Jun 26, 2016 · That's the primary cause responsible for the deplorable state of Vive support on Linux. Apparently even HTC's own staff are looking to "investigate" [www.gamingonlinux.com] why Valve dropped the ball on this one. That's the real cause for the delay here, not some valid technical reason - just simple obstructionism from Valve.

Feb 29, 2016 · HTC Vive use's SteamVR. SteamVR has Linux support already. It shouldn't be hard for them to get the HTC Vive working with Linux. It may just take time and they have to finish with the Windows version first, as that is the larger market, then work on Linux/Mac. There is still plenty of time for them to add Linux/Max support.
