May 16, 2018 · Linux supports HFS through the “hfs” and “hfsplus” kernel modules. There’s an easy way to test if your system has these kernel modules. Plug in a USB drive formatted with the Mac OS Extended file system.

Nov 23, 2008 · Yes, this is the solution (see Massimiliano), at least it works (tested on Ubuntu 8.04 using the packages hfsplus and hfsprogs): the force option is the only way to allow to write to the HFS volume, as the warning message explains, even though without the force option mount says that you may write to the volume (but this is not the case actually!).

Sep 29, 2011 · My Oracle Enterprise Linux will not mount these volumes, returning an error: Unknown filesystem type 'hfsplus'. From my brief searches, the Linux Kernel supports HFSPLUS file systems. Does anyone know how I can enable this support in Oracle Linux 6.1? Thanks, Jeff jeff_at_buturff_dot_net
