Jan 31, 2007 · It means you TV doesn't support HDCP, or High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Your cable box won't output a signal because without HDCP the signal could be copied, to a DVD or other recording device. Basically, its yet another way for the media outlets to control what you do with your media. Theres not really a fix for this.

Feb 27, 2011 · What does this mean, I have a Hitachi 50V500 LCD hooked to cox digital cable's HD DVR digital box and when I hook up the dvi cable I get a message from the box that says your hdtv does not support hdcp please connect different cables, cox says that the dvi output is active and they can't give me a straight answer.
