Apr 22, 2013 · I recently purchased two new LG monitors (29EA93-P and 27EA83-D). Their specs say they are HDCP capable. The Nvidia control panel application says they are and that HDCP is working with the connection between the video card and monitor. However, Windows Media Center (Windows 8) refuses to allow me to watch encrypted content (HBO, Showtime).

Jan 06, 2012 · About 7 months ago, I decided to upgrade to WINDOWS 7 Ultimate (64 bit). Dell told me that they did not have a Windows 7 compatiable chipset driver, but the forums led me to believe that the system would work fine with WINDOWS 7. So far it has, but I am wondering if this HDCP issue has something to do with that.... Thanks for helping.

A key aspect of HDCP is that it isn't required by law to be compatible with every interface. It’s a voluntary licensing relationship between the DCP and various companies.

Mine is a desktop running an Intel I7 at 3.2MHz, Windows 8.1, and Nvidia GTX770 card with three possible inputs: Display Port, DVI, and HDMI. The NVidia card clearly shows that HDCP is supported and active on the card and the monitor like the graphic shown in an above post to this thread.
