Aug 12, 2008 · There is a network stack – in fact it supports DHCP, BOOTP, and RARP. But it must be compiled into grub. The default grub with RHEL4/RHEL5 doesn't have it in. However, whilst there's support for some network cards, e1000 and Broadcom aren't supported by Linux. Sun have updated grub to support e1000.
