The removal of Growl support for Mountain Lion is a showstopper for me. Last point -- CCC offers opportunities to run third-party applications before and after your scheduled backup tasks run, and there is a way to generate Growl notifications at that time: growlnotify. Workaround.

Aug 01, 2012 · While Apple's Notification Center feature in OS X Mountain Lion is incredibly useful, it doesn't quite work the same way as the tool that most people used before Mountain Lion arrived: Growl. Fortunately, a new app called Hiss can make up the difference.
I'm still on Lion, and recently noticed that a lot of my apps are being updated with Notification Center support. Since I'm not on Mountain Lion and therefore don't have Notification Center, I won't be able to use these new features.
