Although Pd heterogeneous catalysts can be recycled efficiently, a reduction in the activity of the immobilized catalyst is often observed . It has been documented that currently only a few articles use graphene or graphene oxide as a solid support for Pf ions or …Cited by: 249

Electrochemical conversion of CO 2 into valued products is one of the most important issues but remains a great challenge in chemistry. Herein, we report a novel synthetic approach involving prolonged thermal pyrolysis of hemin and melamine molecules on graphene for the fabrication of a robust and efficient single‐iron‐atom electrocatalyst for electrochemical CO 2 reduction.Cited by: 6

The nature of the carbon support also matter in the catalytic ability. it has been shown very well that the nitrogen doped graphene sheets are better catalytic support when compared with reduced ...

Graphene, as a form of carbon with a high electron mobility and specific surface area, arises as a natural candidate as a catalytic support. In the most common catalytic reaction, a noble metal catalyst is anchored to a support that acts not only as mechanical support, but also provides charge transfer that assists the reaction.

Nanocarbon-supported Pt nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared and tested for the propane dehydrogenation reaction (PDH). The nanocarbon support is composed of a nanodiamond core and a defective, ultrathin graphene nanoshell (ND@G). The Pt/ND@G catalyst experienced slight deactivation during the 100 h PDH test, while the Pt/Al2O3 catalyst showed severe deactivation after the 20 h PDH …Cited by: 19

In chemistry, a catalyst support is the material, usually a solid with a high surface area, to which a catalyst is affixed. The activity of heterogeneous catalysts and nanomaterial-based catalysts occurs at the surface atoms. Consequently, great effort is made to maximize the …

We report a facile chemical method for fabricating holey graphene by catalytic oxidation of highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) using an Fe III porphyrin complex‐based covalent organic framework (COF) as a bifunctional surface catalyst–template. We demonstrate regular hole formation after oxidation with H 2 O 2 and NaOCl, COF removal, and HOPG exfoliation.Cited by: 5

Jan 21, 2015 · Graphene has many advantages that make it an attractive two-dimensional (2D) support for heterogeneous catalysts. It not only allows the high loading of targeted catalytic species but also facilitates the mass transfer during the reaction processes. These advantages, along with …Cited by: 2
