Hi there I can't get gphoto2 to claim my camera/USB device, I have the Nikon 5200 connected to my MacBook Pro, I'm using Mac OSX Terminal and gphoto2 version 2.5.4 installed via homebrew. I run the following to kill any instance of PTPCamera: killall PTPCamera. I then run the following as proof that the camera is recognized: gphoto2 --auto-detect

May 20, 2016 · After gphoto2 interacts with the 80D, and subsequent calls fail, with the USB cable still attached, I can take any number of shot using the shutter release button, but if I press the "play" button to review shots, "Busy... please wait" appears on the flip out LCD and remains stuck until the USB cable is detached or the shutter release is pressed.

Hi Marcus, unfortunately no one replied to your request. I can confirm that shooting and downloading images works just fine but many other values like iso, shutterspeed that can be set with sony camera control do not work in gphoto 2.5.5.

Jan 26, 2019 · Some of them can be switched to use a different communication protocol and might be in that case useable with libgphoto2. Other camera support a protocol called PTP or USB Imaging Devices that has been developed by Kodak and other. libgphoto2 does support PTP. Also working will be cameras labeled as "PictBridge", which is a extension to PTP.

Thanks LDiego. I may have to build it myself as you indicated but I'll try to keep that as a last resort. I am still very inexperienced with Linux and have never even attempted to play around with the build (only apt-get in Ubuntu and playing around with certain files in Android as instructed for mods).
