change agent to gpg-agent you do not have to do this, but every other agent does need to register your key with it every session again. gpg-agent remembers the once added key and you never have to register it again. Not using gpg-agent, has the disadvantage of having to register the key every login-session with "monkeysphere s" again.

I have tried to enable SSH agent support by specifying enable-ssh-support, but this makes the gpg-agent ask you for another key to encrypt the key, and then stores your private key in ~/.gnupg/private-keys.d/. No go for me, I'll stick to a dual ssh-agent / gpg-agent approach then.

May 01, 2017 · gpg-agent with --enable-ssh-support, and no socket I've been using gpg-agent with ssh support enabled for a while, and it has worked okay. I always needed to remember to get the agent started before I began tmux, so the env variables propagated properly, but other than that it worked okay.

Jul 26, 2017 · Quick update: I've got an experimental Python script that acts as a replacement for the gpg-agent.exe SSH support, by acting as a bridge between an Assuan socket and the fully-functioning PuTTY support provided by --enable-putty-support.

It may actually happen that two agents are started which does not harm because the the unused agent detects this case and terminates itself after some time. > too, so that Cygwin ssh can make use of it.
