Is there anyone from Google looking into the USB OTG issue. I can't believe that I am able to use the same cable with other devices which claim to be USB OTG devices with success but cannot use my Nexus 7 2013. I have been told about rooting my device and use slickmount but I don't see why that should be the solution.
