Dec 15, 2012 · There is going to be an area at the feed ramp that is not going to have full support, just the way it is. The later .40 glock barrels like in your Gen 4 have more support than the older .40 barrels. If it were me I would shoot them one a time and examine the brass. A small convex portion near the unsupported part of the chamber is normal.

Nov 22, 2011 · Folks, I decided to get an after-market fully-supported barrel for my Glock 35 .40 S&W after reading Brian’s post on how “SAAMI specs indicate that a 40 S&W chamber should have a fully supported chamber (due to the round's high pressure), but Glock chose to ignore that for their 40 caliber barrels, because it makes the gun easier to feed more reliably.”

In looking at the barrel the chamber surrounds the casing except at the lower area where the ramp blends into the chamber. Or, is the criticism of the chamber sizing?

Nov 04, 2017 · I'm sure the barrels in the MOS are no different than any other Glock barrel of the same generation. The only difference is the slide cut. I'm currently using stock barrels in my .40 Glocks. I tried a Lone Wolf .40 barrel in my 35. Turns out the factory barrel was a bit more accurate and easier to load for with it's longer leade chamber.

I do not know if Glock has increased chamber support in their 40-caliber barrels or not. Though I didn’t witness it, a friend of mine reported a KB in his Glock 21. Neither he or nor I can blame it on the pistol. Seems he mistakenly left a cleaning swab in the barrel.

Glock increased the amount of chamber support in their .40 line something like fifteen years ago. And any gun is likely to blow up if you fire again with a squib stuck in the barrel, or if you fire it with a double charge of propellant, not just Glocks.

Sep 29, 2011 · With tighter tolerances, you get more chamber support and you aren't as hard on brass, but you may not have 100% reliability, especially if you handload. I have heard it is a misnomer. Any semi auto pistol that has a feed ramp into the barrel won't have a fully supported chamber.

Jan 05, 2020 · I see no reason a Glock cannot have a fully supported chamber. My CZ75B .40 S&W has one…FULLY supported. My SIG SP2022 has one…FULLY supported. Even my 30 year old Firestar .45 ACP has a FULLY supported chamber! Clearly LWD has proven they CAN build a chamber will full support, now they just need to commit to that level of quality control.

May 31, 2011 · I was wondering how many times if anyone was keeping track of the number of times a piece or lot has been resized this way on their 40 brass before they suspected too much fatigue. I also understand the oversized chamber in the stock Glock barrel too allow the use of different ammo,and also to allow it to funcition in extreme conditions.

Nov 26, 2014 · This was a new gen 3 gun. It seems that half the kBs are 40, and half of those are Glocks. This could be due to the shear number of Glocks out there, On the other hand, Glock chamber support (or lack of) gets knocked a lot, but there are many makes that lack chamber support. If you shoot only jacketed factory loads, you have little need to worry.
