Proficy Historian uses port 14000 for collectors and clients It is possible control the TCP port number that the Data Archiver listens on for incoming connections. Proficy Historian supports direct connectivity between GE IP clients. This was made available at first with iFIX v3.0 & 3.5 via a SIM and CIMPLICITY v6.1 in the December 2004 service pack. Thereafter it has been included as part of the core release of each product.

For each point that is to be logged to the Historian server: Open the Point's Properties; On the "Point Properties->General" tab Select the "Log to Historian" checkbox. Click on the "OK" button on the Point Properties dialog. Do a Configuration Update; Open "Start->Programs->Proficy HMI SCADA X->OPC Server". Navigate to Edit->Server Configuration.
