Mar 11, 2008 · GCC 4.3.0 also has performance tuning for the Intel Core 2 and AMD Geode processors. In addition, there is now support for Intel's SSE4.1, and SSE4.2 instruction sets. This support had been deprecated since GCC 4.0.0. Support for a number of older systems and recently unmaintained or untested target ports of GCC has been declared obsolete in GCC 4.3. Unless there is activity to revive them, the next release of GCC will have their sources permanently removed.
