Oct 11, 2010 · After installing ntfs-3g, all NTFS drives will disappear from the "Startup Disk" preference pane. Disabling or uninstalling ntfs-3g brings them back. It seems that this issue can't be solved, but only worked around since the Startup Disk preference pane doesn't recognize file system drivers that are not provided by Apple. Possible workarounds:

Jul 21, 2011 · Re: NTFS-3G Mount problem Error: /dev/disk1s1 I've also got the same problem popping up on a WD My Passport drive. The Windows disk check I ran came up without errors, and the drive seems to mount just fine on my two Windows machines, and the wife's MacBook (White).

Sep 18, 2010 · I'm running my iMac in 64-bit mode. I did'nt know this was non-standard, though. Somewhere I have seen that there is a mixed mode so that apps that require 32-bit mode will run 32-bit and the OS as well as apps that can take advantage of the 64-bit processing will run in 64-bit mode.
