Maybe someday we'll see FTPS support in browsers. Update: I tried FTP Upload with IE8. It displayed a hyperlinked list of files, but had this message at the top: "To view this FTP site in Windows Explorer, click Page, and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer."

Agreed, Filezilla is an excellent FTP client. According to this post from a Microsoft MVP, browsers do not include native support for FTPS. I read that Firefox has a plug-in that sorta works.

Sep 24, 2008 · I thought that I'd begin this series with an examination of several web browsers, which are really not the best FTP clients around - web browsers are mostly just "putting a pretty face" on an FTP site rather than functioning as an FTP client. Besides browsers, the biggest problem with moving to FTPS is that the standard old ftp client (inetutils) does not support FTPS. The following tools appear to work with FTPS. Perhaps the simplest replacement for command line FTP is LFTP below.
