can install FreeBSD on LVM? The FreeBSD Forums

    https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/can-install-freebsd-on-lvm.55252/
Oct 26, 2016 · The man page geom_linux_lvm(4) has a bunch of caveats already: you can't allocate/resize LVM volumes from FreeBSD and it only supports linear stripes. It will not be able to load the kernel from it, so a separate boot partition is very likely necessary.
