Ours charged $125 an hour and was well worth it (allow for the fact we're in MA, hopefully in Kansas you'll pay less) he gave us such good advice, told us what needed to be supported for the changes we wanted to make and the diagrams he provided have certainly helped while pulling permits and working with other contractors.
