Oct 27, 2012 · It said that HP did not test my laptop model and it was not compatible to upgrade. I then ran the Windows Upgrade Assistant to get more info. It scanned my computer and the results said my laptop does not support the firmware needed to run secure boot and also I would have to purchase a new media center in order to play dvds.

Secure Boot not supported by Dimension E521 firmware. Using the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, it says that my secure boot isn't compatible with my PC. My PC's firmware doesn't support Secure Boot so you won't be able to use Window 8.
