    Do you have an x86_64 architecture ? And was your compiler built with support for that architecture ? Also check binutils. Or are you maybe trying to cross-compile ?

    Check the binutils build, and run the cross-assembler with --version. If the cross-assembler is okay, maybe the wrong one is used by xgcc. There's an option to gcc I think to print what commands it uses.     @Srinivasan.B I don't think you'll be able to get it building with mingw64. Even the Qt devs don't build it for that. As I mentioned above, last I checked mingw64 is just too incomplete and missing too many things to successfully build Qt.
