Jul 13, 2019 · When Adobe added mkv "support" (in the 2018.1.1 release), it was not announced and was "undocumented." This is a bit oversimplified, but my take is that simple mkv files worked, and more complex ones often did not. mkv is a container, and it could hold many streams.

Feb 04, 2018 · So I have been streaming titles in 4K HEVC x265 HDR MKV format from Plex Media Server to a Roku Ultra, then to an LG 65UJ7700 TV. PlexPy & Plex server indicate Direct Play except for titles with Atmos, DTS-MA, or other advanced audio codecs the Roku doesn't support - then it transcodes audio but direct plays video.

May 29, 2013 · Now I can either load the mkv files onto a USB key ( or external USB hard drive ), connect the key to the TV and the files play and look great. Or I can use EyeConnect to turn my Mac into a media server and stream mkv files directly from the Mac to the TV where again they play beautifully.

Nov 17, 2008 · Looks like MKV's with DTS will still need running through a DTS to AC3 converter. The popcorn hour A100 also has the same issue with DTS audio in MKV's so there are plenty of converters out there. (A110 model does play DTS in MKV's)

Dec 24, 2007 · Basically if its not playing on PS3 its either divx 3.11 or xvid with custom matrixes. x360 support xvid as well, while PS3 atm support only divx and xvid is playing only if it doesnt use some advanced xvid features.
