Sep 12, 2006 · Quota issue recompile to support ext3 quotas. Hi, I have A VPS running Fedora Core 5 using Xen, kernel 2.6.12.6-xenU. I am trying to install CubePanel, a hosting control panel, but was unable to due to this error:

May 26, 2002 · Quotas are handled by the kernel... the only fs that supports quotas is the ext2 fs, according to documentation for the latest stable 2.4.17. Dec 09, 2012 · Like any other file system (EXT3/EXT4), XFS does support quota management. Quotas are used to allocate/restrict disk space usage in a file system. XFS quota supports 3 types i.e., user, group and project level quotas. Technically, there is no directory level quota in XFS, but project type of quota can be used to implement directory level quota.

Bug 500231 - RFE: quota support for ext4 in RHEL5. ... I've gone ahead and re-formatted my production partition ext3 and decided to continue with that for the school year. don't really need any of the features of ext4 at this point anyway, so I guess I can wait.
