End of life only means end of production and active selling, HP will continue to provide a minimum 5 year support beyond the end of life date for the EVA. In fact I was still seeing EVA5000’s being migrated out last year, 7 years after their end of life and 12 years since their product launch.

re: eva5000 HP normally wants to do these firmware upgrades themselves, so if you've got any sort of support access, get in contact with your HP rep and schedule a visit. As pointed out in previous posts, the "fast" method of upgrading is really the only way to go, but it does require a short period of downtime.
