For Ethernet copper cabling when used for 10/100/1000BASE-T, the maximum allowed length of a Cat 5e / Cat 6 cable is 100 meters (328 ft). This consists of 90 meters (295 ft) of solid "horizontal" cabling between the patch panel and the wall jack, plus 10 meters (33 ft) of stranded patch cable between each jack and the attached device.

Jan 07, 2016 · Theoretically Cat 6 Ethernet cable supports approx. 100 M, But is there any other cable which can support around 160-180M with 100 Mbps LAN speed. It's not cable length that's the issue but signal attenuation. Notice that when dealing with things like single mode fibre, you can go a lot further than multi mode.

Nov 12, 2019 · Category 6 cables support Gigabit Ethernet data rates of 1 gigabit per second. They can accommodate 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections over a limited distance—164 feet for a single cable. Cat 6 cable contains four pairs of copper wire and uses all the pairs for signaling in order to obtain its high level of performance.

Ethernet / ˈ iː θ ər n ɛ t / is a family of computer networking technologies commonly used in local area networks (LAN), metropolitan area networks (MAN) and wide area networks (WAN). It was commercially introduced in 1980 and first standardized in 1983 as IEEE 802.3.Ethernet has since retained a good deal of backward compatibility and has been refined to support higher bit rates, a ...
