Sep 27, 2011 · Enabling tech support mode in the ESXi console To launch the ESXi console, press F2 on the host’s keyboard. If your data center is far away or you don’t have physical access to the host, enable remote shell access through the ESXi console’s troubleshooting options.

Once Tech Support Mode is enabled, you can use commands found on every Linux distribution (e.g., /bin/ls, which list files, and /bin/cp, which copies files).

Jun 04, 2009 · b- Enter the command exit to exit Tech Support Mode. c- Press Alt+F2 to return the server to DCUI mode. Again I have to mention, use this console at your own risk. Your usage of the above console without VMware consultation is not supported. I mainly use it to edit the local host files, which I will show at upcoming article. I hope this help.
