E00 is a proprietary ESRI file format intended to support the transfer between ESRI systems of different types of geospatial data used in ESRI software ( Old systems anyway, people use the ESRI file geodatabase now ).

Dec 26, 2017 · Here in the Pacific Northwest, management of public forests is guided by the Northwest Forest Plan, which was developed in the early 1990s. The underlying GIS data that was created to support that plan is still only available in e00 format.
