Sep 20, 2012 · While I check the APC information in phpinfo(), it says MMAP support is disabled. Tried to use --enable-mmap on the configure command for php and it says 'unknown option'. After a lot of search it looks like MMAP is a feature related to apache.

With CASSANDRA-8464, this behavior changed to directly compress data to enable mmap to work correctly. The problem is when DSE has a lot of random reads (the hot dataset > memory) it's more efficient to set disk_access_mode: mmap_index_only to prevent page faults.

May 13, 2013 · So, what do I have to do to enable MMAP support for APC now? As of Linux it compiles directly with MMAP in APC while doing pecl install apc, I tried the same thing in a Virtualbox FreeBSD guest, it is the same as on my main server, no MMAP while installing APC from ports.
