With MPIO It will show: EMC.Symmetrix.aix.rte 5.3.0.3 C F EMC Symmetrix AIX Support Software EMC.Symmetrix.fcp.MPIO.rte 5.3.0.3 C F EMC Symmetrix FCP MPIO Support Softwa re ; Reboot the host, because the bosboot might need to be updated.This is optional.

However I am running into an issue with EMC odm filesets . So my current OS is AIX 6.1. and I have this : lslpp -l grep EMC EMC.CLARiiON.aix.rte 5.3.0.9 COMMITTED EMC CLARiiON AIX Support EMC.CLARiiON.fcp.rte 5.3.0.9 COMMITTED EMC CLARiiON FCP Support---But if I migrate to AIX 7.1 these are not compatible, because bos.rte will be 7.1.

I have search powerlink and online support looking for release notes for AIX EMC ODM version 5.3.0.8, without any luck. I even downloaded the odm package itself hopeing it would be in the tar file. no. Can some point me were I can download the release notes for emc odm 5.3.0.8 thank you

Remove all EMC disks from aix system, deinstall all EMC filesets (PowerPath & AIX ODM support fileset). Install "AIX ODM support for MPIO" (provided by free from EMC web page) After reboot you should get native MPIO disks with EMC ODM definitions what should be fine then.

Thanks for everyone for trying to help .So i did test migration with NIMADM, After migration i upgraded EMC odm, now it looks like below (not sure why it is showing two of same fileset) . so far it works, this server has only two LUNs, (test server) no application or anything running on the server.I will know more when I do that on the real server, hope everything runs okay .
