Apr 18, 2007 · Embarq DSL has never supported VPN's. In fact I don't know of a single ISP that does support VPN connections on a residential line. That being said, VPN's do work on Embarq DSL.

May 01, 2010 · I worked for Embarq in their DSL Support department for a while and most times port forwarding issues were related to the modem not forwarding the ports. For security, your modem also acts as a router and data has to pass through your modem before it gets to your router or computer.
