I have a gcc-cross-compiler for OMAP5912 architecture. I want to program C codes in eclipse using that cross compiler. How to add it in the eclipse path.? Yes, I am pretty mixed up - it is a long and crooked way from "cross GCC" to ARM compiler (toolset) build for specific hardware. The terminology is not always intuitive - in SSH I have server and client , in "cross compiling " I have a "host". So what do you call the machine where I am using Eclipse to write the software on ?

I am trying to run cross-compile with arm-linux-gnuabihf for my developementboard with an armv7 (cortex-a9) with arm-ds-5 which is based on the eclipse enviroment. First im trying to run a simple "Helloworld" to validate the settings, but i have run into problems i somehow cannot overcome.

I did have the setting for Cross GCC compiler already, as suggested - here is the screenshot: but after several code recompilations, nothing changes and I still have the very same issue. I noticed though, that when I close Eclipse, restart, problem seems to go away until code is recompiled.

However, I have 2 versions of GCC installed, one in the standard MinGW installation C:\MinGW and one not. How can I get Eclipse to use the GCC installation in the non-standard path? If you want it, the easiest way is to enable one of the builtin discovery providers in the Providers dialog. I don't think it really matters which you select but, since you are cross compiling, I'd pick the one labeled Cross GCC Built-In Compiler Settings. It will run a command to get the compiler …
