Dec 21, 2017 · From my point of you the best ebook reader for technical pdfs is Sony DPT-RP1. Otherwise I prefer Remarkable (although the software misses some features, the annotation, and the pen response is absolutely like nothing on the market and it also supports epubs). It is a startup company, but they got very far.

The Kindle DX does a really good job of displaying PDFs, but it lacks hyperlink support, dictionary and note-taking support, and other interacting features, which doesn’t make any sense because the Kindle 3 has all those features. There are other large-screen E Ink ebook readers too that offer more features than the Kindle DX.

Having used a few, the PDF support on e-ink devices is basic at best at the moment, and having tried a few its not an experience I would recommend. Eink is really only very good at reading rescalable text and the annotation experience is painfully bad on both the kindle and the latest generation sony reader.
