Nov 14, 2009 · Windows 7 and EAX I've seen conflicting info about this and would like to get the facts. I've read somewhere that Windows 7 includes a software wrapper that supports EAX up to 4.0, but when I choose that setting in Civilization 4 Beyond the Sword, I get no sound.

Jun 09, 2015 · But say you want to replay old EAX titles (like Baldur's Gate, Diablo II, Thief, NOLF, KotOR, etc) in Windows 7 on a 2.0 or 2.1 speaker set-up - will you just get basic stereo, losing all EAX effects, or is there some way you can still get your EAX, emulated or otherwise? Dec 15, 2012 · Its not like EAX is a big deal anyways and as was said if you have a high end machine and sound is that important to you, or EAX for that matter, then purchase an EAX certified sound card.
