Hello - I can also confirm that there is some level of acceleration for 7-series Nvidia cards. My Media Center PC is quite old (2.5Ghz Athlon 64 from 2005), and it can barely play 480p H.264 videos (CPU is constantly @ 100%).

Jan 14, 2016 · I'm using Media Player Classic Home Cinema (MPC-HC) and Kodi (XBMC). DXVA Hardware accelerated video playback in both players stopped working since installing catalyst 15.7. MPC HC playback is very choppy even if DXVA is active or it accelerates in CUDA mode with Core AVC. When playing those 1080p files CPU usege is low around 14-20%,as it should be, but somehow MPC HC doesnt use ION2 chip features in right order, even if if it shows that DXVA or CUDA is active.

Aug 05, 2009 · For example, the combo of VMR9 Renderless + MPC's DXVA decoder yielded the same pink vertical stripes. I still have not found a combination that would get subtitles working without causing issues with DXVA decode. Under VMR9 Renderless + ArcSoft + MPC-HC internal subtitles renderer, the video would playback in like half the speed!

Feb 17, 2015 · By default MPC-BE uses VMR7 windowed which doesn't support subtitles, so it has to load an external subtitle filter. I switched it to VMR9 renderless (like MPC-HC is using), which supports subtitles, and now it is working perfectly with subtitles and hardware acceleration; CPU usage 0% to 5%, about the same as when I'm not playing a video.
