I have the same problem. I have a DELL INSPIRON 4100 running on W2K and I have tried to install a D-Link DWL-650+ and it has been crashing my computer ever since. I get a blue screen with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I've tried versions 2.2 and 3.07 of the driver supplied by D-Link with no success. I'm not to impressed with their product support.

Oct 19, 2016 · DWL-650 Rev P/P1 ? prism3/hostap_cs : No : The device ID was removed from hostap_cs.c during the merge of those sources into the kernel, and for some reason is in orinoco_cs (likely because the DWL-650 works with orinoco_cs). People have been notified and a patch has been submitted. This card needs firmware loaded in order to work.
