May 23, 2004 · Re: your HDTV TV does not support HDCP. IIRC there have been a few DVD's released that included a bonus disk that had a high definition version of the movie in wmv 9 format. So you need the windows media 9 player or codec and a very high end computer to output it to your HDTV or play it on your monitor.

Sep 11, 2011 · So, if your Rogers box sends that DVI alert to the TV set, the TV is actually reading, and delivering the picture of the DVI alert to the TV screen ! It just doesn't like the HDCP signal...and you can thank Hollywood for that last minute lawsuit that created HDCP.3/5(5.3K)

Mar 19, 2009 · You have a 1080p TV that doesn't support HDCP, which is the only way you can get a full 1080p picture. More precisely, the box won't send a 1080p picture to the TV because it doesn't support HDCP, which is a stupid piece of junk that the media companies forced into HDTVs because they thought it would stop people from capturing the video signal passing over the HDMI link.

May 20, 2009 · It means you TV doesn't support HDCP, or High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Your cable box won't output a signal because without HDCP the signal could be copied, to a DVD or other recording device. Basically, its yet another way for the media outlets to control what you do with your media. Theres not really a fix for this.
