Mar 04, 2010 · Win 7 DVD Playback. I just did a clean install of windows 7 ultimate on a hp pavilion dv7 1129wm laptop. The laptop has a DVD/RW drive installed in it. After installing windows 7 now the drive wont read DVD discs. It will read audio and data discs, but will not read a DVD disc. It says the drive is empty even though there is a movie in the drive.
