Apr 26, 2017 · Alternately referred to as multi-channel memory, dual-channel memory is a DDR, DDR2, or DDR3 chipset on the motherboard providing RAM with two dedicated high-throughput data channels. The channels permit reading from and writing to memory to occur on distinct channels. To take advantage of a dual-channel platform when purchasing memory make sure to buy memory in identical …

Jul 02, 2018 · Bandwidth in Dual Channel = 1333 x (64 x 2) / 8 = 21,328 MB/s or 21.3 GB/s. Note: While the difference between the bandwidths is staggering, do keep in mind that this is just a theoretical calculation of the two values. Actual performance between Single Channel vs Dual Channel memory may differ, which is discussed further. InterleavingAuthor: Varun Mirchandani

Sep 13, 2018 · However, as pointed out by Xenotester in the comment section, the Intel Core i7-8700K does not support quad-channel memory, but, rather, is limited to dual channel configurations. Because of this, the results below do not portray an accurate view of the difference between quad-channel and dual-channel memory performance in gaming.

Would it kill you to give APU's quad channel memory support? Would it make the chips too big? Would it make the chips too costly? I'm pretty sure that with quad channel, we'd see massive performance gains. This would allow you to sell the chips at higher prices or have less compute units for similar performance with dual channel memory.
