Jul 12, 2018 · First, we had Microsoft Translator removing their app from the store, and now Dropbox has also joined the list leaving the OS. The app is no longer available to download from the Windows Store on Windows 8.1 and the company has confirmed that they no longer support the OS.

But as to how I downloaded it what I did is what I have done many times before for Windows 7 is open up the DROPBOX web site and clicked on the download link.

The icon is on the main screen, however it fails to launch on startup of the laptop - despite having it set to do so, both in the Dropbox program as well as in the start up folder.
