This is working as designed. On an unauthenticated connection, the server will not reveal if a user exists or not. The message in the server actlog clearly states that the account does not exist.

Nov 03, 2009 · Using the Active Directory Sites and Services snap-in, I could see that for some reason the domain controller's "MSMQ Settings" object was missing. Reinstalling MSMQ on the DC recreated the desired object and allowed Downlevel Client Support to start which in turn meant the Windows 2000 client was able to install properly.

Oct 26, 2017 · Anyway after installing 8.1.2.0 client and dsmadmc everything worked like a charm, it seems that the 8.1.0.2 invokes the server settings to strict and tls 1.2 but itself the 8.1.0.2 client doesn't support the new security features and as previously mentioned with 8.1.2.0 everything started working.
