Jul 29, 2013 · It will have Windows XP Pro SP3 x86 on one drive and Windows 7 x64 on another. Both these drives are going to be SATA, because that's what I have to use, along with an IDE DVD drive. The motherboard is an ASRockN68C-GS FX. XP will probably be thrown on and updated, with some kind of virus protection just in case.

Nov 08, 2008 · So after installing SP3 on my machine it crashed it, windows would keep on rebooting non-stop, just like when I tried to install XP on my SATA drive the first time. It seems that SP3 wiped out the two files necessary to run the Sata, to get my system back I used the XP disk to Repair it and also install the two files with the A: drive.

Best Answer: you need to use nlite to integrate SATA drivers into a windows xp installation. if you're using a win xp sp2 disc already, it might be the case that your sata drive is old. i had a similar situation with a laptop. you could of course disable Native SATA mode, but then you'd be SOL for advanced features...
