Oct 20, 2013 · Also, the XBMC wiki states that only the Windows and Linux builds support HD audio pass-through while describing support for Android as "initial." So I'm not expecting it (bitstreaming audio or reliable video decode) to work.

Sep 14, 2015 · Thanks. Yes, I set it up at 7.1, and I've enabled pass-through for the audio. If I use PCM, my receiver shows it as being 7.1 audio coming in but it sounds very wrong - like XBMC is sending audio for all seven speakers, but that it's downmixed to stereo.

HDMI audio is strangely called “HDA ATI, @@@” on my PC. The other settings are shown in the picture above. After enabling passthrough, select the same audio device for Passthrough output device, and enable the audio codecs supported by your AV receiver.
