Dec 22, 2009 · Most thin 802.11b access ports (wireless switch/cell controller) do support WPA2-CCMP (AES), which is handled by the wireless switch/cell controller. WPA support, on most 802.11b (not all) clients, typically is supported. Check the vendor web site and see if firmware upgrade is available that supports WPA.

Jun 22, 2007 · Since WPA has not yet been broken it's not necessarily less secure than WPA2. The question is not so much about your laptop but about what your wireless adapter and its driver support. The specs on the adapter should say. If it only says WEP, there may still be a driver update to support WPA.
