    May 09, 2010 · Unfortionatly, the firewire port still not working when I want to transfer files from another laptop to my Toshiba Satallite A505. I checked the issues with the websites provided above but it didn't help much. I'm thinking seriously to switch to older version of windows (i.e. XP). The feature you want is not supported in Windows 7.

    Oct 02, 2016 · Correct, the FireWire Solo does not support Windows 8/8.1 and there will be no further development for it. The FireWire Solo was discontinued back when Avid had owned M-Audio. The last driver Avid released for the "FireWire Series" was in 2009, and covers up to Windows 7:

That's with default XP drivers though, supposedly.
